About Wildcats

What is Wildcats Gymnastics?

Wildcats gymnastics is a children’s gymnastic center in Cumberland County Maine, that has been in design and development for over 5 years. Wildcats is a social enterprise, which means our profits will be reinvested into the students, staff, facility and the community at large.

Why Gymnastics?

Gymnastics improves strength, flexibility, agility, coordination and endurance.

Gymnastics teaches children adaptability, self advocacy, cooperation, problem solving, leadership skills, how to work as a team and how to rally and bounce back from disappointment.

Gymnastics gives children a positive introduction to organized physical activities and social interactions which improves their sense of self confidence and purpose.

Gymnastics contributes to higher grades because there is a connection in the brain between physical and intellectual learning.

Gymnastics gives children a lifelong appreciation for learning and physical activity.

We must get our children off their couches, away from their screens and moving their bodies in the world, learning how to interact and communicate with others, three dimensionally. It is actually imperative for proper brain development. We all go through developmental stages and steps. If one is missed, it can be very hard to recover from the setback. A child that is challenged with certain physical, organizational and social skills at the right time in a positive and productive manner will benefit from it their whole lives. Physical and intellectual development and learning are strongly linked. This is why most gymnasts excel academically. Children that get to do gymnastics when they are young, have an advantage over those who do not. They are more comfortable with their bodies and this makes them both more self confident and safer wherever they go in the world.

At Wildcats we believe:

Children are the most valuable thing on the planet.

Gymnastics is very valuable for every student even if he or she never competes.

Gymnastics should be fun as well as healthy and educational.

Every business should create, use, maintain and improve upon an effective quality control system.

Every group in the gym is equally important, preschool, recreation, competition and staff.

Every business should productively contribute to the community it impacts.

What makes Wildcats Gymnastics unique?

Wildcats will offer classes by session because it allows for better class organization and more progressive learning rather than monthly classes which make billing and office work easier.

At Wildcats we plan to offer non-school day, holiday vacation and summer vacation camps.

Wildcats will put time, energy and money into making sure their staff is well supported and working together toward common goals for the good of the whole program.

Wildcats has developed carefully designed, progressive weekly lesson plans that all coaches will follow and contribute to revising and improving consistently.

Wildcats will work hard to maintain clear communication between all staff members and between staff and patrons.

Meet Our Team

We belive that children benefit phisically, mentally and emotionally from gymnastics regardless of age or level of aptitude. Our dedicated team of coaches are pleased to have the opportunity to support your gymnastics experience.
